Moved my blog to http://kami.uuuq.com/

I already did since some time but I forgot to mention it here.

“Clannad is a Japanese visual novel created by the software company Key, who also produced the successful titles Kanon and Air.
The visual novel was later ported to the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, and Xbox 360. The gameplay in Clannad follows a linear plot line, which offers pre-determined scenarios and courses of interaction, and focuses on the appeal of the five female main characters.”
(-hijacked from wikipedia)

First off: No, I don’t plan on updating the blog only once in a month. I’m just a lazy basta…. guy who isn’t motivated enough to blog something every week. That said, look forward to Clannad. :)

Clannad is probably the funniest VN (Visual Novel) I played so far. Jokes at every corner, lovely characters and a deep story*.
Actually I wanted to blog it yesterday and took some screenshots, but instead I played through a whole arc ….
*You’ll really want to learn more about the characters and how it goes on. Besides you get a sweet epilogue. But I guess the best thing is: Whenever you start an arc, you get a really long story with that characters (which is really good in my option).

Story: *****/5
Characters: ****/5
Graphics: ****/5
BGM: ****/5
Voice: *****/5
SFX: ***/5

Overall Rating: 4,2

Okay let’s start:
Story: The story depends on which ending you are going but overall they are all really good and well made. Everyone who likes drama/romance stories with humor is right here.
Characters: You get much information about the characters and their personalities. There aren’t any hate characters (well some side characters maybe :p).
Graphics: They did their work with character design and background design. Though they still left some things out, like: Sunohara gets beat up but there aren’t really any bruises on him.
Music: Well, the background music was so-so. Nothing outstanding here but at least a “Music Room” option. :)
SFX: Either I didn’t hear much SFX or I can’t remember. Anyway, the SFX in other VN is way better (they go more into detail with things like “Boy A suddenly gets up and pushes the chair behind” and you can hear the sound from the floor and chair. Clannad was lacking such detail.).

Oh noez, a sudden love confession !

Barge in, of course !

Indeed, they are unnecessary

“Kick it back right where it came from” is what my mind told me

“That’s why you should believe in ME who believes in YOU !”

Actually, I’m not sure if that’s a boy or a girl.

I had the choice to dub something over Sunohara’s favourite CD
What do you guys think, which one did I choose ? :)

“Phantasy Star Universe: Ambition of the Illuminus is the first expansion of SonicTeam’s internationally popular online RPG Phantasy Star Universe, available for the PC, PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360.”
(-Hijacked from wikipedia)

Almost 30 different weapon types such as Claws,Whips,Crossbows,Axes,Twin daggers,Rifles or even a Laser Cannon.
(Link)

There’s an Online mode (Network Mode) and an Offline mode (Story Mode). It’s fully standalone, meaning you don’t need “Phantasy Star Universe” for the expansion. You can create your own Character out of 4 different races and 3 different classes (around 15 in the online mode).
I only played the story mode so far (cuz I don’t want to pay monthly fees …), but it still was a lot of fun. The NPCs you can group up with are…, well … pretty dumb. The Story Mode itself was boring too (besides having no voices …), but I still had much fun (after the story mode though …).

Anyway, I can only recommend this game to every easy-grinding RPG fan.

Character Creation

You can design your own room (In Story Mode you can only add a few things but Online you can change stuff like the floor or the ceiling)

//€dit: Forgot to mention, THESE SCREENS ARE NOT ON HIGH SETTINGS (The resolution itself is only 800×600)

“Vanguard Bandits is a strategy-RPG featuring tactical combat in a medieval fantasy world in which knights and soldiers pilot mecha.” (-Hijacked from wikipedia)
And a good one on top of that ! It’s one of my favourite “strategy-RPG” (aka TRPG – Tactical Role-Playing Game).
The mechas are called “ATACs” (All Terrain Armored Combatants)

There are three endings to reach. Though I only finished one (which was the shortest). These endings depend on things like the overall moral of your companions or the relationship between two females (YAY!).
Anyway, TRPG+Mecha+Romance+Multiple Endings+Good Plot = Win ?
I can only recommend this game to everyone.

“Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine (真・女神転生IMAGINE, Shin Megami Tensei: Imagine?) is a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game based in the Megami Tensei universe. It features demon summoning and other gameplay features from the previous games. The game requires no subscription fee but charges for specific in-game items which are sold for real currency.”

Not only that, “On September 9th it was announced that Aeria games had licensed the game for North American and European Release.”.

Plot:
The game is set in Japan and is essentially between Shin Megami Tensei and Shin Megami Tensei 2. In the game, Tokyo was destroyed in 202X and the survivors began construction of a massive tower, Shinjuku Babel. In this post-apocalyptic world, demonic forces run rampant and it is the player’s job to defeat them.
(-Hijacked from wikipedia)

There are three Fractions: Law, Neutral and Chaos.
Law and Chaos is probably self explaining. Neutral are freelance mercenaries.

Personal Comments:
I just took a short look on the game, if it’s worth to play. I’ll probably check out the NA/European release. I didn’t play much enough to say something about the game (didn’t even reach the demon summoning skill). Btw, I had some troubles with the updater (excluding the slow download …).
